Supervising Cardiologists PDF

Dr. Hector Manuel Garcia-Garcia is an interventional cardiologist and is also supervising cardiologist of intravascular imaging at Cardialysis.

In 1997, as a Summa Cum Laude graduate of the Medical School of University Autonoma of Guadalajara in Mexico, Dr Garcia-Garcia started his internal medicine training in Medical Center “Siglo XXI” and continued in the National Institute of Cardiology “Ignacio Chavez” his training in Cardiology. In 2004, he did 2 years training in Interventional Cardiology. In 2006 the Erasmus University Rotterdam granted the Master in Science degree to him and in 2009 the doctoral degree. He has published ~150 articles in peer-reviewed journals and more than 10 book chapters in renowned cardiology books (i.e. Hurst the Heart). His main research topics are intravascular imaging and coronary atherosclerosis.

Dr. Osama Ibrahim Soliman, M.B.B.Ch, MSc, MD, PhD, FESC is a consultant cardiologist specialised in non-invasive cardiovascular imaging. He is a research scientist at the Erasmus MC Rotterdam and also supervising cardiologist of non-invasive imaging core lab at Cardialysis.

Dr. Soliman has been graduated in 1996 Summa Cum Laude from the Medical School of Al-Azhar University, Cairo, Egypt. He completed eight years of training in internal medicine and cardiology in Al-Azhar University Hospitals in Cairo, Egypt. In 2000, he was awarded the degree of Master of Science Cum Laude based on a dissertation entitled “Intravascular ultrasound versus quantitative coronary angiography for the assessment of immediate results of coronary artery stenting”. In 2005, he joined the Erasmus MC Rotterdam, where he was awarded the doctoral degree from the Erasmus University Rotterdam in 2007 based on dissertation entitled “Advanced quantitative echocardiography guiding therapy for heart failure”.  Dr. Soliman has written ~100 articles in peer-reviewed journals. He is a Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology. He serves on the Editorial board of the Journal of the American Society of Echocardiography since 2009. His main research topics are non-invasive cardiovascular imaging and heart failure.

Dr. Carl Johann Schultz MBChB, DPhil, MRCP is a consultant Interventional Cardiologist with a special interest in non-invasive and invasive imaging for procedural planning, guidance and evaluation at the Department of Cardiology, Thoraxcentre, ErasmusMC Rotterdam and is also supervising cardiologist of the Angiography Core Lab at Cardialysis.
Dr. Schultz graduated in 1994 at the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa. He was awarded a PhD at the University of Oxford with theThesis Title:" The Natural History of Microalbuminuria in Type-I Diabetes Mellitus," and Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (London). He was broadly trained in Cardiology and completed Fellow ships in Intervention and Cardiac CT at the Royal Brompton Hospital, London and Erasmus MC, Rotterdam 2007-8 before he accepting his current position. He has published ~70 articles in peer-reviewed journals and more than 5 book chapters in renowned Cardiology Text Books.
